John Baldessari Pillow Cases
In 1970, John Baldessari cremated his entire catalog of work, baked them into cookies and then put those cookies into an urn. John Baldessari is an American treasure.
THE THING Quarterly scored a new Baldessari work for the twenty-second edition of their incomparable object periodical, and we were lucky enough to get a few of them. Baldessari's gorgeous contribution consists of two standard size 100% cotton sateen pillowcases — 320 thread count — each adorned with a silkscreened image of a woman clutching a pillow, from a Hollywood film still in Baldessari's collection.
Produced in San Francisco with the help of Levi’s Made & Crafted and clothing design companies Turk & Taylor and New Factory Friend, the case — like all of THE THING's issues — is made to be used.
