Martino Gamper Recto Verso Chair
Designer Martino Gamper mines his fascination with traditional, bentwood café chairs to conceive the Recto Verso — a strong-lined, super simplified modernization he manufactures himself. Premiered two years ago as part of Ace's London Design festivities, this Ready Made Go 2 version of the Recto Verso comes in a completely unique color way. Simple, stackable and totally singular.
Working across a variety of design and art avenues, designer Martino Gamper creates products for exhibition and interior design, along with one-off commissions and mass-produced pieces at the leading edge of the international furniture industry. Starting as an apprentice with a furniture maker in Merano, Gamper went on to study sculpture under Michelangelo Pistoletto at the Academy of Fine Arts, Vienna. He completed a Masters in 2000 from the Royal College of Art, London, where he studied under Ron Arad. Gamper lives and works in London.
