Max Lamb Tin Coated Stool

Celebrated fine and functional artist Max Lamb gave us a one-of-a-kind studio prototype — a totally singular mild steel stool, hand-brushed in tin. Starting with a single sheet of metal, Lamb's stool was high-speed spun and worked into its singular silhouette, then hand-coated in an experimental tin finish. The result is what Max calls "a home-made, ‘painterly’" version of a very traditional tinning process — an elemental design piece that'll bring your unreachables a full 44cm closer.

Max Lamb makes beautiful things. His work is a deeply immersive exploration of materials and their capabilities: tables and chairs dug out of granite boulders, stools cast from sand, and a whole furniture collection made from scrap polystyrene. Pieces made in the world. Lamb lives and works in London.
